As we all know, the new dashboard update has been rolled out in a preview scheme. Well i got to try out the preview, and here are some of the hidden features:
Remote Eject:
If you are too lazy to press the shiny metal button on the front of your xbox, you can go to the My Xbox blade, and hover over the game disk, you can now press X to eject the current disk inside, although you will still have to move to put a new disk in. No automatic disk changing... as yet.
Clear the Cache:
You can now clear the cache for your Hard Drive now without entering that long combo(X,X,LB,RB,X,X). All you have to do now is go to the Hard Drive and press Y, then select Clear Cache.
Improved Primetime Channel:
The primetime channel now is a lot faster and feels better. It now lists all of the shows in smaller more compact blocks. The showlist no longer glitches and shows the same show multiple times. In Europe, with only 1 vs 100 available at the moment, that wasnt a big problem, but good news for our American Cousins.
The Return of The Click:
Now when you enter a chat or party you hear a clicking sound through the headset similar to what you used to hear when you enter or leave a chat. Helpful for knowing whether you have joined a party, but it can get annoying.
Faster Gamertag Recovery:
I often go round to friends houses, and it used to take 20 minutes sometimes to recover my gamertag. No longer. It was noticeably faster in recovering, only taking a few minutes.
Smaller Game Install Sizes:
You may now install games that are smaller than the previous 3 gigabyte limit. This allows some bonus disks and smaller games to be installed onto your hard drive, as mentioned in a previous Gameztraffic Post
